What we found

  • Specter Labs passes all six tests: XL 31.5 × 15.7 in from $44.99, stitched, free file clean-up, made in the USA.
  • SizzlePop (ours) passes five and has the lowest desk-size price, $39 shipped in the US. You can't upload your own art yet.
  • For a 36 × 18 in pad under $50, YourPlaymat ($44.95, +$5 stitching) and Inked Gaming ($49.99) both qualify.
  • Vistaprint and Shutterfly don't sell a desk-size custom pad; their largest are 12 × 16 in and 7.75 × 9.25 in.
  • Almost no custom pad can be returned for a change of mind. Defects are covered, with time limits from 72 hours to 30 days.

What a custom mouse pad is (and what it is not)

A custom mouse pad is a cloth-topped rubber or neoprene pad printed with your image. Small pads (about 8 × 10 in) hold only the mouse. Desk-size pads, also sold as XL pads or desk mats, run 31 in wide or more and sit under the keyboard too.

It is not the same as a gaming pad bought off the shelf. Every pad here is printed to order, so it takes days to make and usually can't be returned unless it arrives damaged or misprinted. The design is yours to supply, except at SizzlePop, where you describe it and a generator draws it.

How we ranked these custom mouse pads

One point per test passed, read from each seller's own page on October 15, 2026. Ties go to the lower desk-size price; a seller that doesn't publish one sorts last. If a page doesn't say, it scores no point.

  1. Desk-size option. A pad at least 31 in wide, big enough for keyboard and mouse.
  2. Stitched edges. Sewn edges offered on the seller page (free or as an option).
  3. Desk size for $50 or less. List price of one desk-size pad on the seller page, edging included.
  4. Free design help. A free proof, free editing or a free design generator before you pay.
  5. Printed in the USA. The seller page says the pad is made or printed in the USA.
  6. Upload your own art. You can send your own photo or artwork.

The best custom mouse pads in 2026

Six sellers that offer a desk-size pad, ranked by the six tests. Prices are one pad, before tax and shipping unless stated. Every number links back to the seller's page.

1. Specter Labs, best for your own art at desk size

XL 31.5 × 15.7 in from $44.99 · S 13.8 × 10.2 in to XXXL 39.4 × 19.7 in · 3, 4 or 5 mm · 6 of 6 tests

Six sizes, from 13.8 × 10.2 in up to 39.4 × 19.7 in. The XL (31.5 × 15.7 in) costs $44.99 at 3 mm, $49.99 at 4 mm and $54.99 at 5 mm. Edges are overlock-stitched. Its free "Premium Editing Pledge" cleans up your image, including AI images, and the page says the pads are made in the USA. The homepage shows 2,208 reviews, 98% of them five-star.

Shipping: Cost at checkout; 5 to 30 days depending on country. Returns: Custom pads not returnable; defective or damaged replaced or refunded within 30 days. Seller page

Best suited for: Anyone with a photo or finished artwork who wants a big, thick pad and free clean-up of the file.

2. SizzlePop (ours), best for a design from an idea, no art needed

15.5 × 31.5 in for $39, free US shipping · 15.5 × 31.5 in only · 3 mm · 5 of 6 tests

One size, 15.5 × 31.5 in (39 × 80 cm), 3 mm neoprene with a dye-sublimated polyester top, sewn (overlocked) edges. $39 with free US shipping, the lowest desk-size price here. You type what you want and our generator draws it; previews are free. Where we lose: you can't upload your own art yet, and our mat is smaller than the 36 × 18 in pads from Inked Gaming and YourPlaymat.

Shipping: Free to US addresses; usually 7 to 10 days. Returns: Made to order, so no change-of-mind returns; a damaged or misprinted mat is made right with a photo, nothing to mail back.

Best suited for: People who want a desk mat with their own idea on it but don't have artwork ready.

3. YourPlaymat, best for a 36 × 18 in pad under $50

36 × 18 in $44.95 (stitching +$5) · 13 × 11 in, 36 × 18 in, custom sizes · 2 mm · 4 of 6 tests

The 36 × 18 in desk mat lists at $44.95 (shown against a $56.19 regular price). Stitched edging adds $5, which still lands under $50. Premium editing costs $15 more, and the page does not say where the mats are printed. Custom sizes are available.

Shipping: 10 to 15 working days to print and ship; free over $100. Returns: Report a problem within 7 days; remade if the error is theirs. Seller page

Best suited for: Buyers with print-ready art who want the biggest pad for under $50.

4. Inked Gaming, best for the widest size range

36 × 18 in $49.99 · 9 × 8 in ($19.99) to 48 × 24 in ($89.99) · 4 mm (36 × 18 in) · 4 of 6 tests

Five sizes from 9 × 8 in at $19.99 to 48 × 24 in at $89.99; the 36 × 18 in Extended XL is $49.99 at 4 mm with stitched edges. Editing and a preview are a paid upgrade. Its pages disagree on the free-shipping threshold and on production time, so check at checkout.

Shipping: Paid rates from $5.95; free-shipping threshold differs between pages ($75 or $100). Returns: Custom orders: 50% restocking fee, within 30 days; defects reported within 72 hours reprinted or refunded. Seller page

Best suited for: Buyers who want an extra-large 48 × 24 in pad or a matching set in several sizes.

5. Ultimate Custom Gaming Mouse Pads, best for free designer help and a 24-hour proof

XL 31.4 × 11.8 in $66; Mega 35.4 × 15.7 in $75 · 11.4 × 9.8 in to 47.2 × 23.6 in, custom sizes on request · 2, 3 or 4 mm · 4 of 6 tests

Sizes run up to 47.2 × 23.6 in, with custom sizes on request. A designer helps for free and emails a proof within 24 hours; if you reject the preview you get a full refund. Desk sizes start at $66 (31.4 × 11.8 in, 3 mm), above our $50 line.

Shipping: Prints 1 to 3 business days after approval; shipping $6 (8 to 15 days) or $29 (6 to 12 days). Returns: Reprint or refund for their errors within 30 days; full refund if you reject the preview. Seller page

6. X-Raypad (Custom Aqua Control II), best for gaming cloth and the biggest sizes

$13.80 to $75.80 by size · 10 × 8 in to 55 × 21.6 in · Not stated · 4 of 6 tests

Built on X-Raypad's Aqua Control II gaming cloth, in sizes up to 55 × 21.6 in, with black, clear or white stitching. It checks and edits your artwork for free and emails a proof before production. The page shows a $13.80 to $75.80 range without a price per size, so it scores no point on price. 52 reviews average 5.00.

Shipping: Worldwide with tracking, shipped from China; time and cost not stated. Returns: Not stated on the product page. Seller page

Best suited for: Gamers who care about the cloth surface and want a very large pad.
